It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a blog post so I thought I would do one about the time it takes for you to get your dancing photos. We all know that there’s a lot of country dancing options between Lincoln and Omaha again, and I’m usually there with my camera making sure to capture all the fun!

A lot of people from Pla-Mor, and now Bushwacker’s, ask me why they’re not ready ASAP at 8am the next day. ? It’s a bit of a story that actually is simple to explain, so let’s get into it!

1. I don’t do photography full-time, and have an 8-5 that takes most of my day.

I may do a lot of photography, but only on a part-time basis. Since that likely doesn’t pay the bills, people are confused at what I do during the day that seemingly does pay my bills and more. Well, here goes: I am a top distributor for a multi-le… nope, can’t do that with a straight face! ? Nah, I’m actually a software developer for a big Omaha company known for being a sponsor of a prominent wildlife show! I’m basically paid to hate my computer so others hate theirs less is the best way I can describe it.

Photography is a great creative outlet for me to relax, which is why I do all the Pla-Mor and Bushwacker’s photos for free and charge less than others for things like weddings and senior photos. Since I now work from home, it’s also a fun way for me to interact with people in a low-risk setting when doing a fun couples shoot outdoors at a local park! Digressing from that point, the creative outlet angle leads us into the next point…

2. I shoot your Pla-Mor and Bushwacker’s photos like any other photo shoot

My default way of taking photos is in RAW format, so I capture everything I can. That means I need to convert them to JPEGs before I can even post them to the web. With all the external lighting I use, sometimes the photos can be too bright or just a bit dark. I go in and correct that so your awesome action shots are the way Goldilocks likes her porridge: just right! Once that’s done, getting them ready to post to Facebook and Instagram is a cinch.

After that, I like to go through and do a double-check just in case. Now here comes the fun part…

3. Posting 300 photos weekly to Facebook and Instagram isn’t easy

Of course, Instagram limits posts to 10 photos so …yeah, that’s another layer of suck to this step. Facebook’s Creator Studio is not fun to use either. I can easily get a post on my website ready and just let the photos upload over a few hours. While that does its thing, I just chill and watch me some Netflix. Also, not everyone is on social media so it makes it easier for everyone to get their sweet action shots!

Oh, forgot to mention: Facebook’s main album creator I use has been broken the past few weeks. I can create albums another way, but it’s a little roundabout to be honest. The fewer hoops I jump through, the quicker you get your photos!

Conclusion

There’s a lot of reasons that make you wait to get your dancing photos from Pla-Mor and Bushwacker’s. The big one is just my daily job that I enjoy being at and wouldn’t trade it for anything! I’m not being mean making you wait to get your photos and I do try my best to have them done next-day. I just have to fulfill the responsibilities of my job so I can continue to deliver you amazing photos like I always do!
