About the Photographer

Hello! I'm Michael, and I'm a part-time photographer based in La Vista who often works with clients in Lincoln. When I'm not developing software, I'm known as the guy who takes all the photos at the Pla-Mor Ballroom since 2018.

I've had an interest in photography since I was in high school when I took a multimedia class. I rediscovered this interest when I took a Canon T3i with me to Nashville in 2014. Since taking over the Pla-Mor Ballroom photos in 2018, I've taught myself a lot about photography in many different environments. This includes learning about lighting, composition, and patience waiting for the right moment.

When I'm not developing software or taking amazing photos, I can be found dancing, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family.

My Style

While photographs are two dimensional, I approach my photography in a way that makes my photos feel alive and the subjects to pop out. We live in a color-filled three-dimensional world, and I feel that photos should reflect that fact.

I love creating a unique mood for each photography session, utilizing natural light along with lighting equipment to create unique art for my clients. I don’t believe in overprocessing photos as I feel that processing should be like seasoning: just enough to enhance the flavor, but not too much that drowns out the stars of the show.
