So I’m a little late posting these photos, but I got all the photos from the Pla-Mor Ballroom‘s Big Band Extravaganza ready for you to view! I was late mostly because of a back injury and working to figure out how the public distribution of photos was going to go.
So if you’re not familiar, Bobby Layne has his own Big Band that has performed for over 70 years. Big bands have been around for over 100 years and have been instrumental in setting the tune for the dancing that we now know as swing. Bobby has performed with many different big bands and has even worked with Bob Hope in the past.
Remember, there is no Country Sunday without country music. There is no country music without Western swing. There is no Western swing without bands like Bobby Layne’s. Next time you’re at the Pla-Mor Ballroom, make sure to thank Bobby for all the great music he’s put out that paved the way for Country Sundays! Additionally, let him know if you’d like more of his Big Band Extravaganza!
Downloading and Printing
If you don’t mind the watermarked versions for Facebook, feel free to download and share for personal use only. Downloads on mobile devices work best using Safari on iOS, and Chrome on Android. Downloads on PC and Mac are just fine, no matter which browser you choose. I do have a guide if you’re on mobile if you’re new to the process: Downloading Your Pla-Mor Photos. Check it out if you have issues!
If you want prints or an unwatermarked version so you can print them yourself, click on the printer icon when hovering over a photo on a computer or in the fullscreen view on mobile devices. At the time of writing, digital copies are $3 a photo and prints start out at $4.99 for a 4×6.
If you are a member of Bobby Layne’s family that was there, please reach out to me directly at michael.stark@starkindustriesne.com.
